Utility poles on Pepco Substation FEP site

Substation FEP

KDM is supporting the Pepco Substation Facility Enhancement Program (FEP) projects by providing site civil engineering and permitting services. The FEP projects upgrade the site physical security. Site civil engineering services include preparation of (1) Stormwater Management and Erosion & Sediment Control drawing packages, (2) designs to replace or install drainage culverts, (3) site re-grading designs, and (4) updates to the site plan. Building permits are obtained for installation of a new perimeter fence and a new enclosure to house the security electronics. Associated permits and reviews are obtained for items such as grading, Woodland Conservation, Natural Resources Inventory, Mandatory Referral Review, Flood Plain, Fire Department Access, and Modification of Special Exceptions.

KDM interfaces with the following agencies to obtain the permits and reviews: Montgomery County Department of Permitting Services (DPS); Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE); Prince George’s County Soil Conservation District; Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission (MNCPPC); Washington, DC Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA); Washington, DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE); and the Montgomery County Board of Appeals.
